Provider #450043-06

The CAET Reiki Volunteer Program at University Medical Center
The CAET Reiki Volunteer Program was launched in June of 2006. As of January 1, 2009 Mega R. Mease and The Center for Advanced Energy Therapeutics are contracted by UMC to source and manage the Program.

Mega R. Mease: Program Director
Susie Bohnenkamp, Ms, ACNS-BC, CCM: Hospital Liaison

All volunteers must complete Master-Teacher or Advanced training before acceptance into the program. In addition, all volunteers receive extensive in-house experience. We feel this is a necessary component of offering a service where patients will feel comfortable and safe. This service is a complimentary service for patients, supportive people and staff.

The primary goal of this program is to enhance the well-being of patients, the patient’s support system, and/or medical staff. Our secondary goal is education and therefore establishing and maintaining cooperation between the allopathic and holistic communities. The spirit of the program intends to expand its presence and contribution as a recognizable complement to the existing quality care already present as it perpetuates the credibility of Reiki in the hospital environment.

We are dedicated to quality care and an honorable reputation. This program has created and maintains a standard level of professionalism complementing the traditional Reiki code of ethics.

We are actively looking for caring, qualified Reiki practitioners. Volunteers must meet the requirements of both UMC Hospital and the Reiki Program.
